The fifth meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization [SCO] member nations' prime ministers was held in Dushanbe, capital city of Tajikistan, on 15 September. After the meeting, chiefs of the member nations' delegations signed a "Joint Communique of the Council of Heads of Governments (Prime Ministers) of the SCO Member Nations." The full text is as follows:
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao proposed in Dushanbe on Friday that members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) should further facilitate economic cooperation by coordinating legislation and policy making, improving infrastructure and guaranteeing investments.
Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Rustam Azimov said the economic projects, on which agreements were reached during the International Shanghai Conference, cannot be implemented without the cooperation of Iran, as a significant regional country.
The six member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) agreed on Friday in Dushanbe on measures aimed at deepening and strengthening economic cooperation within the framework of the group.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov took part in a solemn reception, dedicated to the Independence Day of Uzbekistan [marked on 1 September], Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.
