On the eve of celebration of the 19th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence Deputy Chief of Mission, Head of Economic Affairs and Development Cooperation Section of the Embassy of Japan in Uzbekistan Hiroshi Chayama spoke on bilateral relations between the two countries.
A presentation dedicated to the achievements of Uzbekistan for the years of independence was delivered at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is urging all Member States that have not yet done so to ratify the United Nations-backed treaty banning nuclear tests, saying it is important to build on the momentum made on disarmament and non-proliferation over the past year.
A number of foreign leaders send letters to President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, congratulating the head of the state and the people of Uzbekistan with the 19th anniversary of independence of the country, celebrated on 1 September.
The world community interest to our country and its culture is growing. A series of articles in one of the most popular Turkish newspapers Turkiye under general title "A country between Syrdarya and Amudarya" dedicated to cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan is bright illustration of this fact.
