UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on 19 January said the United Nations stands ready to support the efforts of Arab governments and their partners to achieve shared social and economic goals, with the aim of laying the foundation for a more peaceful and prosperous future.
The United Nations is making progress in its efforts to incorporate women into its conflict mediation activities – but much more still needs to be done.
